Every season at the Gallo Center a few hidden gems emerge—less well known shows that take patrons by surprise with their charm and unconventionality. We call them “Lynn’s Picks.” Look for this thumbs up symbol. It’s a nod from CEO Lynn Dickerson that you might consider taking a chance on a show!
It's the 10th Anniversary of the show that puts the spotlight on homegrown talent while benefiting the non-profit Gallo Center! Join us for another rousing celebration of the singers, dancers, musicians and other wonderful artists who come from across the valley—Modesto, Turlock, Merced, Stockton, Manteca, Lodi and more. They'll be competing for big cash prizes, including the $3,000 E. & J. Gallo Winery Grand Prize. Extra special guests from past Valley Talent Project shows will be performing, too!

It is Einstein’s birthday and a group of journalists has gathered in his living room to interview him at his home as he turns 55. As usual, Einstein is running late and his devoted secretary, Ellen, stalls by fielding questions, placating and humoring the reporters, explaining his theories all the while attempting to keep the chaotic household running smoothly. Jason Lyle Black is an award-winning pianist, composer, and entertainer, whose combination of beautiful music, hilarious musical comedy, and incredible stage antics produce a one-of-a-kind live show experience. One moment Black showcases his remarkable piano talent on pieces like Clair de Lune and Rhapsody in Blue, while the next he cracks the audience up with his own bits like Songs Not to Play at People’s Funerals! In this solo performance, Jason develops a high level of connection and interaction with his audience, such as with his “audience requests” segments. Black’s unique music videos have reached over 30 million people worldwide.
Known across the world for her powerful voice and perfect pitch, Lea Salonga is a singer and actress who is best known for her Tony Award-winning role in Miss Saigon. In addition to the Tony, she has won the Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards, in the field of musical theatre. She was also the first Asian to play Eponine in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway and returned to the beloved show as Fantine in the 2006 revival. Many fans of all ages recognize Lea as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine from Aladdin and Fa Mulan for Mulan and Mulan II.
