Special Engagements
They’re called Special Engagements in part because the competition to schedule these in-demand artists is always challenging. The 26/27 lineup includes Wynton Marsalis on his final farewell tour with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Fresno-raised, six-time Tony Award-winning Broadway star Audra McDonald, legendary comic-actress of film, television and stage Lily Tomlin and the timeless artistry of Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winner Art Garfunkel.

GCA Cabaret
It's the second season of this series offering a vibrant and eclectic showcase of huge talent in the intimate Foster Family Theater! Performances by Haley Reinhart, Cheyenne Jackson and Dez Duron will captivate audiences with their unique blend of styles from sultry jazz to Broadway standards. Take advantage of special VIP table seating both on stage and in the orchestra pit, complete with complimentary cocktail service, for a truly cabaret-style experience.

Sutter Health Broadway Series
For the first time in its history, the Gallo Center for the Arts will offer six touring Broadway productions in a single season! They are six-time Tony Award-winning musical, Meredith Wilson's The Music Man; the international sensation Jersey Boys; then Kinky Boots, the winner of Tony, Grammy and Olivier awards for Best Musical; followed by Shucked, CEO Chad Hilligus' pick as the funniest Broadway show since Book of Mormon; next the charming and uplifting musical Waitress, and finishing up with the Neil Diamond Musical, A Beautiful Noise. What an amazing series!

Country, Folk & Americana
Country's Montgomery Gentry featuring Eddie Montgomery headlines this seriees, followed by two adventurous debuts at the Gallo Center. Ranch Hands Cowboylesque is a wild Girls Night Out show with music, dance, comedy...and oh yes, shirtless cowboys! Then, by audience request, we'll present the Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra, a 7-piece acoustic band from Oslo, Norway. They perform a fresh take on Americana roots music with a unique blend of bluegrass and Nordic folk!

Here's an eclectic lineup for you. Legendary comedy star Lily Tomlin is making a long-awaited return to the Center! Marlon Wayans (rescheduled from last season) is bringing his brand-new Wild Child Tour, while America's Got Talent Golden Buzzer star Drew Lynch will be performing two shows! Also headed our way are Christian-friendly Gallo Center favorite Henry Cho, and Las Vegas headliner Terry Fator, the impressionist and ventriloquist with his hilarious family of assorted, outrageous characters! You know and love them all from television series and specials, stand-up tours and more.

Classical Music
This series often introduces Gallo Center audiences to thrilling artists they may not have seen perform live before, and 26/27 will be no exception. The critically hailed New York Philharmonic Quartet will make their debut at the Center. They appear regularly with their parent orchestra as well as symphonies around the globe. World-renowned guitarist Miloš also is debuting at the Center, with a program exploring how composers across the centuries capture the many faces and moods of romance in their music.

Jazz & Blues
26/27 offers a wonderfully diverse selection of jazz and blues performances for your consideration: Spectacularly gifted singer Ledisi, a Grammy Award-winning disciple of the great Dinah Washington; Tuba Skinny, performing the best in early jazz, blues and swing with forays into ragtime, country blues and more; and, Wynton Marsalis, making his final farewell tour with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra! They sold out their last appearance at the Center. Something to keep in mind.

Homegrown Talent
The Modesto area is blessed with an abundance of artistic talent—musicians, actors, poets and more. The Gallo Center takes great pride in showcasing homegrown excellence, such as the valley's only African American theater organization, Sankofa Theatre Company, and their production of Joe Turner's Come and Gone, and the debut performance by The David Perez Band, a high-energy group performing Latino rock, Tejano, old school R&B and more—in English and Spanish.

Four incredible shows comprise this series in 26/27, each of them sure to make for great family occasions. Wit & Wisdom
In a series devoted to speakers who make you laugh and comics who make you think, here are three irresistible shows: Combining razor-sharp British wit with stunning mind-reading skills, Peter Antoniou dazzles audiences everywhere. Bored Teachers is making its Gallo Center debut with the most relatable (and hilarious) teacher comedy you'll ever hear. Last and far from least is Alton Brown, the delightfully witty Food Network star well-remembered for appearances at the Center in 2015 and 2017!

Global Roots Music
New for 26/27 is this series taking you on an international voyage of discovery! Leading off is the Buena Vista Social Club Orchestra, the world's foremost Cuban music repertory with a revolving line-up of all-star performers. And then, something very new for the Gallo Center: The Sarod Trilogy, Indian classical music performed by legendary Maestro Amjad Ali Khan and his sons Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash.

Latino Performances
You'll want to be here to welcome such stars and performances as the immensely popular norteño-sax band, Conjunto Primavera; the Banda y Mariachi Tour of La Original Banda El Limón with special guests Julian Torres y Mariachi Cenzontle; the joyful and colorful Campana Sobre Campana: Christmas in Mexico; the return of Jesse & Joy with their lush romantic sound; Camila Fernandez, following in the footsteps of her grandfather Vicente and father Alejandro; and, Gallo Center favorite Ballet Folklórico de Mėxico! We'll also be presenting our traditional Day of the Dead Altar in the Marie Damrell Gallo Grand Lobby!

The Gallo Center’s commitment to dance is represented in the 26/27 season with MOMIX performing artistic director Moses Pendleton's Botanica; a fabulous exploration of youthful African artistry, Cirque Kalabantė; the extraordinary company that for more than 50 years has been presenting the next generation of superb dancers to audiences worldwide, plus ¡Festejos!, a Cinco de Mayo Celebration by the Calidanza Dance Company.

Inspirational
Two exceptional, Christian-friendly artists coming to the Gallo Center in 26/27, with others potentially to be added later in the season. Singer-songwriter and Dove Award nominee Ben Fuller creates music that shares his story of redemption and healing. Comedian Henry Cho returns to the Center with his signature clean comedy and sharp observations about family life, marriage, parenting, church life, cultural mix-ups and growing up as a Korean American in Tennessee.

Blockbusters, indeed! They include the thrilling American taiko drumming group, TaikoProject; the return of Theresa Caputo Live: The Experience; an intimate evening with hitmakers David Foster & Katharine McPhee; a cinematic evening with a screening of William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet in Concert set to live music; Burn the Floor: Maks & Peta Live! presents ballroom superstars Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd; and then it's One Man Star Wars Trilogy, in which actor Charles Ross celebrates the film's 50th anniversary by acting it out with no costumes, no props, no sets, but with all the characters, the music, the ships, and the battles.

GCRC continues to grow, thrive and innovate as a regional theatre presence, and this is reflected in its ambitious 26/27 season conceived by Ryan Foy, the Center's director of produced theatre and special programming. In recent seasons the Gallo Center has found enthusiastic audiences for musically sophisticated shows honoring rock bands and artists from years past. This season will bring tribute performances by Australian Pink Floyd; Get the Led Out; Legends in Concert Presents Legendary Ladies: Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, Lady Gaga, Cher & Tina Turner; and a super-charged journey back in time, The Sixties Show. This series also includes the return of one of the Center's most popular offerings over the years, Classic Albums Live. This time they will be performing, note for note and cut for cut, The Eagles: Their Greatest Hits.

Holiday Celebrations
Such choices! We'll have the hugely popular Irish Christmas in America; The Carpenters Songbook: At Christmas; Ukulele master Jake Shimabukuro's Holiday's in Hawaii; the Camila Fernandez Christmas Show--and, of course, the perpetually sold-out Dave Koz & Friends Annual Christmas Tour. This is Dave's 29th tour, and it features guitarist Jonathan Butler and special guests Haley Reinhart (vocals), Dylan Chambers (guitar and vocals, and Erin Stevenson (vocals). This promises to be one of the Center's most in-demand holiday line ups ever!

YES Company
Join us for YES Company's 35th annual, all-student Broadway-style production! This year it's Disney's Frozen, the enchanting Broadway hit based on Disney' Academy Award-winning animated feature film. The adaptation includes all of film's beloved songs along with new music written exclusively for the stage!
Due to YES Company’s scheduling and its July 23–26 performance dates, this production went on sale March 30. Ticket availability is subject to prior sales.

Brown Bag Free Summer Concert Series
Returning for the 6th year at the outdoor Modesto Rotary Music Garden, it’s the Gallo Center's summer series of free Friday noontime concerts by top regional musical artists! Pack a lunch, bring family or friends, and have a great time in this perfect setting for live music in the heart of downtown Modesto. The concerts are scheduled between July and September, and just in time for this season's series, the Center is building a wonderful and spacious new shade project designed to make the experience even more enjoyable!
