YES Academy provides year-long musical theater education, performance, and community engagement opportunities. Through YES Academy, students will engage in regular musical theater classes (including vocal, dance and acting) and masterclasses in other theatrical production elements. Participation in YES Academy is by audition.
Who is Eligible to Audition?
- If you have participated in a YES Company production and are currently in 7th-12th grade
- If you have not participated in a YES Company production, are currently in 7th-12th grade, and agree to audtion for the upcoming YES Company production
- If you are a current GCYA member, and are currently in 7th-8th grade, you may audition for YES Academy in addition to participating in GCYA
2022-2023 Season Schedule
Monthly Classes: Classes are held twice a month on the dates listed below taught by YES Company director and choreographer Maggie Sniffen and Music Director Phil Smallwood. All classes are held on Thursdays from 4:00 -7:00 PM with the exception of the masterclasses held four times a year. All classes are held at the Tom Changnon Education Center (TCEC) 1325 H Street, Downtown Modesto.
