Gallo Center Youth Academy FAQs


Registration is processed in the order it is received and will be accepted until the class is full or the class has met twice.


Gallo Center Youth Academy strives to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for students of all abilities. Parents are encouraged to provide complete information on the registration form and will be contacted by a member of our Education Department to discuss reasonable and respectful accommodations.


You will receive an email confirmation of your registration within 24 hours of your registration. Further details will be emailed two weeks before class begins and an Information Night will also take place one week before class begins giving families an opportunity to meet the GCYA team and learn more about what to expect that semester.


Gallo Center Youth Academy Classes are offered at a per semester rate. Each semester runs ten weeks of instruction. Tuition can be paid in full at registration or through a monthly payment plan starting at $50/month with the first payment due at registration.


Cancellations received two weeks prior to the start of the class/camp will be refunded amount paid less a $25 processing/registration fee.

Cancellations received within two weeks of class/camp cannot be refunded. If you are on a payment plan, you are still obligated to pay registration in-full.

A $25 administrative fee will be accessed for switching classes within two weeks of classes start.

The Gallo Center reserves the right to cancel a class if enrollment is insufficient. In this instance, any amount paid will be refunded in full.


Payment plans are available with a credit or debit card through online or over the phone registration. Payment plans consist of equal installments automatically drafted on the Friday of the first full week of each month with the final payment occurring the month the class ends.

If you are on a payment plan and cancel your class with less than 2-weeks notice, you are still obligated to pay tuition in-full.


Scholarships are available. Please click here to apply. The deadline to apply for scholarships is Friday, July 28. Scholarships will be awarded by email on Wednesday, August 2. Scholarship awards must be accepted and confirmed by Monday, August 7.  


Parents/guardians will be assessed a $10 charge if a child is picked up 15 minutes after class ends, and an additional $1 per minute thereafter. Please pick up your child on time.


Classes take place at the Tom Changnon Education Center located at 1325 H Street in Downtown Modesto. Tech week rehearsals and the performances will take place in the Foster Family Theater at the Gallo Center for the Arts located at 1000 I Street in Downtown Modesto. Street parking is available at both locations for class drop off and pick up.


Please review the following with your child and ensure they understand the following expectations.

Parents/Guardians will be immediately notified if:

  • A child disturbs or hurts others, either verbally or physically.
  • A child damages equipment or property.
  • A child places himself/herself in a dangerous situation.

A student may also be asked not to return to class depending on the severity of their actions.


The use of cell phones, tablets, ipods or video games are prohibited during class sessions. If devices are seen more than once in a day they will be taken away from the student and returned to a parent/guardian at check out.


I hereby give my child permission to participate in Gallo Center Youth Academy activities. I fully assume all responsibility for injuries he/she may receive or articles lost while participating in these activities and herby release the Gallo Center for the Arts from any liability for any injury my child may sustain. I also give my permission to the Gallo Center for the Arts to use photographs or videos of class sessions and performances that contain an image of my child for the limited purpose of promotion and advertising.
